Watercolor Painting

I picked up my water colors again. It's been a long time, but I wanted to created some new art for an empty space. I am planning to do a series of Kansas themed watercolors. The first is this Western Meadowlark. We'll see how far I get. I used a new (to me) app called DaVinci Eye to help with sketching the bird. It was really fun and easy to use.

First Submission to Craft Roulette

Today I discovered Craft Roulette on YouTube. The live was last night, but I decided to play along, SO MUCH FUN! I really miss crafting with my family and friends so maybe this will help to fill that gap a little bit.

So on Craft Roulette, they spin a wheel and you have an hour to create a card within those perimeters. The parameters for this episode were: Black & White plus 2 colors, polka dots, a 6x6 card, and Big & Little.

I just received some paper and stamps from my good friend Lynnie and they were perfect for this challenge.

For the colors I used: Black, white, yellow and teal.

The polka dots were on my base in black in white as well as an accent strip in the middle in yellow and white.

The Big and Little were in my phrase BEE yourself.

The stamp set I used is from Simon Says Stamp and is called Bee Yourself.

The paper is from Honey Bee Stamps and is called The Bee's Knees.

I of course used copics to color the cute bee images and sentiment. I also put the bee in the middle on a wobble.

Thanks for stopping by and have a Crafty Day!

To My Sweetheart

My anniversary is coming up and I created several cards today. The joke in our family is that we “save money” by making our own cards. So in order to "save money" my husband now shops my stash of cards. He was disappointed to find only one card in the anniversary category so I had a good excuse to craft a good part of the day. This is the card I made for him.

For this card I used:
Lawn Fawn Conversation Heart Stencil for the background with Distress Oxide Inks-
                    Carved Pumpkin
                    Squeezed Lemonade
                    Cracked Pistachio
                    Tumbled Glass
                    Peacock Feathers
                    Seedless Preserves
                    Picked Raspberries

The Scalloped heart was made with my Cricut

Lawn Fawn Stamps:
Stud Puffin- Penguins, fish, and sentiment
                    Mermaid for You- Rock

I really love the way this card turned out, especially the background.

Have a Happy Crafty Day!
